A new beginning...

Thanks to a job offer beginning this November I’d be moving base from Gainesville to the Tampa Bay area. Amol’s new office would be 14 miles from my office…which means he n me would be roommates. It’s going to be insane.

Having known each other for some time now we figured it’s in our best interest to convince a third person to move in with us. We’re hoping this third person could do all the cooking and cleaning while the two of us spend our time doing more important stuff like mastering the art of Playstation-II. Its either that or I get to do the cooking, cleaning, dish washing, grocery shopping, lawn mowing etc. etc. while Amol sips on his Vodka Martini watching the sun set in the Gulf of Mexico…hmm…I don’t think so.

I was talking to Rohit a few days back and I realized something that I hadn’t thought of before. It dawned on me that the rest of our insane gang would go out of their way to instigate our new roommate and initiate a mutiny. Irrespective of our best effort to protect this new roommate from being exposed to the baseless accusations made by the insane gang, who we’re dead certain would categorically poison his innocent mind, a rebellion is definitely on the cards. And in spite of us treating this new person extremely nice and making him feel at home by helping him in his daily chores by volunteering to taste his food or by volunteering to switch on the vacuum cleaner so that he doesn’t have to worry about those trivial things when he cleans the entire house or even going above and beyond the call of duty by sanctioning his 4 days of unpaid leave every year…it just wont be good enough.

I would want to say that good always triumphs over evil but lets face it…when it comes to our group, EVIL beats the crap outta GOOD every single day. In fact, EVIL is such a dominating team that of late GOOD doesn’t even bother signing up for the tournament.

Thus, having foreseen the future, Amol and I opted not to have this additional roommate…coz the effort that would go in towards convincing him that he is certainly not been exploited or abused as implied by all and sundry is… well…not worth the effort.

So no new roommates for us... the hunt is on for gullible neighbors.
